At Hubbard Dianetics Foundation South Africa, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you're not satisfied with the Dianetics book you've received, we're here to help. This policy outlines our return and refund procedures in compliance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

2. Return Eligibility

2.1 Time Frame

You have 7 days from the date you receive your book to request a return. Returns requested after this period will not be accepted unless the product is defective or damaged.

2.2 Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return, the book must be:

  • In its original, unopened condition
  • In the original packaging with all protective wrapping intact
  • Free from any marks, writing, or damage
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation email or receipt)

2.3 Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Books that have been opened, read, or used
  • Books with damaged or missing packaging
  • Books with any writing, highlighting, or markings
  • Digital products or downloadable content (if applicable)

3. How to Request a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

  2. Provide Details: Include your order number, reason for return, and photos of the unopened book if possible
  3. Await Approval: We'll review your request and respond within 1-2 business days with return instructions
  4. Ship the Book: Once approved, ship the book back to us using a trackable courier service at your expense
  5. Confirmation: Once we receive and inspect the returned book, we'll process your refund

4. Damaged or Defective Products

4.1 Reporting Damage

If you receive a damaged or defective book:

  • Contact us immediately upon delivery (within 24 hours if possible)
  • Provide photos of the damaged packaging and book
  • Do not discard the packaging as it may be needed for courier claims

4.2 Our Responsibility

For damaged or defective products, we will provide a full refund or replacement at no additional cost to you, including return shipping costs. This is our responsibility under the Consumer Protection Act.

5. Refund Process

5.1 Refund Method

Refunds will be issued using the same payment method you used for the original purchase (EFT bank transfer to your account).

5.2 Processing Time

Once we receive and inspect your returned book:

  • We'll send you an email confirmation of receipt and inspection
  • Approved refunds are processed within 7-10 business days
  • The refund will appear in your bank account within 5-7 business days after processing

5.3 Refund Amount

Your refund will include:

  • Full purchase price of the book
  • Original shipping costs (if the return is due to our error or defective product)

Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the return is due to our error, damage, or defect.

6. Exchanges

We currently do not offer direct exchanges. If you need to exchange a book (e.g., for a different language edition), please return the original book for a refund and place a new order for the desired product.

7. Auditing Services Refunds

7.1 Cancellation Policy

For auditing consultation bookings:

  • Cancellations made 48+ hours before the appointment: Full refund
  • Cancellations made 24-48 hours before: 50% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before: No refund
  • No-shows: No refund

7.2 Service Dissatisfaction

If you're not satisfied with an auditing service, please contact us within 24 hours of the session. We'll work with you to address your concerns and may offer a partial refund or complimentary follow-up session at our discretion.

8. Consumer Protection Act Rights

Under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), you have the right to:

  • Return goods within 7 days for a full refund if they don't meet your expectations (subject to conditions)
  • Receive a refund, replacement, or repair for defective goods
  • Fair and honest dealing from the seller
  • Clear and accurate information about products and services

This policy is designed to comply with the CPA. If any provision conflicts with the CPA, the CPA shall prevail.

9. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs for returns depend on the reason for return:

  • Our Error/Defective Product: We cover all return shipping costs
  • Change of Mind: You are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Damaged in Transit: We cover all return shipping costs

10. Lost or Stolen Packages

If your package is lost or stolen after delivery confirmation by the courier, we are not responsible for replacement or refund. We recommend using a secure delivery address or arranging for someone to receive the package. However, we will work with the courier service to investigate and assist where possible.
